School news:

The current statistics for Shungu Primary School in terms of our pupils is 453 boys and 408 girls making a total of 861 pupils. This number is likely to be doubled due to our massive advertising, improving of our inflastructure and the emblacing of the government policy of reducing PTA fees to a minimal charge.

Welcome to our website! as the school grows in terms of numbers and inflastructure, the need to interact with our clients becomes high. As a result in this era of 21 century emblacing technology is one way of making it easy for our clients and other stake holders to keep in touch with us. Be assured that we will do our best to provide the necessary information needed out there. Thank you!

Shungu Namutitima Basic School was founded in 1925 by a missionary Laurel Coillard. It was the first school in Livingstone built in Libuyu Township near the present day Maramba Basic School and was known as Kashitu Native School. In 1931, it was moved to Maramba Township and the name changed to SHUNGU NAMUTITIMA Primary School. In January of 1988, it became a basic school. From its inception as a basic school, Shungu has never undergone serious rehabilitation and as a result the image of the school has seriously deteriorated and requires some serious attention to help provide a conducive environment for the learners and the Staff.
